Mojiba Ase is a spiritually-driven, super creative writer, speaker, poet, model, spoken artist and humanitarian.
Mojiba Ase, also known as Moji, is a spiritually driven, strong, vibrant, humanitarian, music- lover, super creative and poetic soul. Mojiba was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica. She lived in New York City for a few years after graduating from High School. She is the daughter of Constance Norma Priestley and the Legendary Count Ossie, who as founder of the Mystic Revelation of Rastafari group, was one of Jamaica’s most respected and loved musical and cultural icons.
The death of parents at a young age is a traumatic time for any child but can also open other channels for creativity and self expression. Such was the case for Mojiba who describe this time as “emotionally, mentally and psychologically” traumatising.
She was spiritually paralysed for several years. Her suffering led her to a passion for writing, silence, praying and meditation. These became her saving grace. Thus empowered, she was guided to write her first book of poetry titled “Amowode”, which was self-published in 2007.
Her model looks and features led to a number of roles in TV commercials, movies and music videos. These include Jamaica 50 music video tribute to celebrate Jamaica 50th anniversary in 2012, featuring a number of Jamaica’s leading artists.
Mojiba regularly performs with The Mystic Revelation of Rastafari, her father’s former band. She has just completed work on her debut album 11:11 Reflekshon of Count Ossie and is preparing a tour to promote the album and a new book of poetry.
